"PTF and the SRM FSH Department (Psychology, Social Work, and Journalism) conducted an Awareness Program for Government Higher Secondary Schools in Sembakkam and Thirukazhukundaram, Chengalpattu District, on 07.01.2026.

SRM students performed skits and sessions on the following topics:
a. How Drugs Are Spoiling Children's Future and Society
b. Career Guidance
c. How to Face a Public Exam

During the Thirukazhukundaram session at the Government School, Chengalpattu District Sub-Collector Madam Malathi Helen I.A.S visited the school, appreciated the efforts of PTF and SRM College students, and encouraged the organization of more programs like this."

Rural Tuition Centre Teachers Meeting

The Rural Tuition Centre (RTC) Teachers Meeting was successfully organized by Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation on 03 January 2026 (Saturday) at SRM IST, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu. The programme commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, setting a respectful and positive tone for the day. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. A.R. Ramesh Kannan, Senior Project Manager, VARHAP, PTF, followed by the theme address by Mr. D.V. Venkatagiri, Secretary, Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation, who emphasized the vital role of teachers in strengthening rural education.

RTC teachers shared their experiences from various centres, highlighting challenges, success stories, and innovative teaching practices. This session encouraged peer learning and collaboration among the participants. NM Online Course certificates were distributed to Vizhuthugal students, and teachers’ mementos were presented to appreciate the dedication and commitment of RTC teachers. A special session on Fundamental Qualities of Teachers, led by Mr. V. Chandrasekaran, Senior Consultant, PTF, provided valuable insights into effective teaching and mentorship.

Valli Memorial Lecture Series on Community Health - Edition 4 | Distribution of Valli 5000th Patient's discount card

Valli’s 5000th card was presented to Mr. Manogaran, Retired State Express Transport Corporation (SETC), Chennai, during the Valli Memorial Lecture Series on Community Health – Edition 4, held on 27.11.2025 at SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Potheri, Chengalpattu. The event took place at the G.N. Chetty Road Office on September 3, 2025 and the book was released by Dr. M.S. Grisilda Rengasami, PhD.
This initiative aimed to promote awareness, education, and practical action for the protection of waterbodies and climate change mitigation.

On 26th August 2025, a special event was held at the Valasaravakkam Valliammal Tailoring Training Centre to mark the handover of three sewing machines, generously donated by Dr. M.S. Grisilda Rengasami, PhD.

The machines were officially received by Mr. D. V. Venkatagiri, Secretary of the Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation. Mr. Vijay Gopal, Senior Consultant, and Mrs. Rajathi, Tailoring Instructor, were also present during the event. The addition of these new sewing machines brought great joy and inspiration to the trainees, further strengthening the training facilities and enhancing skill development at the centre

Entrepreneurs Journey of Growth - 2025 - ISRB EXPO FORUM 6th July 2025

Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation – ISRB Expo Forum: Entrepreneurs’ Journey of Growth 2025, held on 6th July, brought together over 125 entrepreneurs from districts including Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Mayiladuthurai, Madurai, Cuddalore, Tiruchirappalli, Shivamogga (Karnataka State) Erode, Thiruvallur, and Karur. The event featured 20+ self-employed entrepreneurs who showcased a diverse range of products such as pain relief oils, rice appalams, millet biscuits and laddus, nightwear,
Sarees, Salwars, Areca Leaf Plates, Wooden cold-pressed oils, organic soaps and fragrances, millet value-added foods and other dried food items. Through these stalls, participants gained significant market exposure and received valuable guidance to scale their businesses.

The forum also hosted expert-led sessions on five vital entrepreneurial topics: Human Resource Management for SMEs, Market Opportunities and Growth Strategies, Success Mindset
for Entrepreneurs, Financial Guidance for Business Development, and Export Opportunities. These insightful sessions provided actionable advice and motivation, equipping entrepreneurs with the tools needed to elevate their ventures. Overall, the ISRB Expo served as a dynamic platform bridging the gap between entrepreneurial aspirations and real-world growth opportunities

🌟 SHINING STARS – Vizhuthugal Farewell 2025 🌟

On May 10, 2025, the Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation celebrated the achievements and spirit of service of 45 exceptional students under the Vizhuthugal Scholarship Programme during the "Shining Stars" Farewell held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. The event featured inspiring speeches from Mr. D.V. Venkatagiri, Secretary of PTF, and Dr. E. Poovammal, Director of Hostels at SRM IST, who motivated the students to continue their journey of social responsibility. Each student was honored with a memento in the proud presence of their parents, marking a memorable milestone in their commitment to education and community service.

MoU Signed Between Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation and ICCW for Water Body Rejuvenation

On 24th April 2025, the Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW), Taramani at the International Centre for Clean Water, IITM Research Park, Taramani Campus, Chennai,

Marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration focused on the rejuvenation and protection of water bodies. MoU signed by the Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation Secretary D.V. Venkatagiri and Mr. E. Nandakumar, CEO of International Centre for Clean Water.

This partnership is aimed at addressing critical water-related challenges through sustainable and science-based approaches. Both organizations will work jointly on initiatives that promote the restoration of existing water bodies, the prevention of water pollution, and community engagement in water conservation practices.

The collaboration leverages the scientific expertise of ICCW (IIT Madras) and the grassroots outreach strength of the Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation to create long-term, impactful solutions for water sustainability.
This MoU signifies a step forward in our commitment to environmental responsibility and building a water-secure future for generations to come.

76th Republic day Celebration

Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation (PTF) celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm at the PTF office in GN Chetty, T. Nagar. The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Mr. V. Sridharan, M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Phil., Physics Teacher (Retd) and Author. He emphasized the importance of education and shared his inspiring journey, highlighting his achievement of completing six degrees.

As a retired Physics teacher, he offered valuable insights and guidance.The Secretary, Mr. D.V. Venkatagiri, presided over the event.
